Size
Earl Little Jr has average size for a college cornerback. He has a slightly slender frame but will be able to add some weight as he gets stronger. He is tall enough to match-up with some bigger receivers on the outside but may be better suited for the slot. Little will be big enough that his size won’t hurt him even if it’s not a big strength of his.
Athleticism
Little has good long speed, even if he is not necessarily a burner. He is an explosive athlete in short areas who has excellent acceleration and can close on plays quickly. Little also demonstrates the flexibility and quick feet to change directions in an instant. He is an excellent athlete that has the ability to excel in multiple roles on defense.
Hips/Technique
Little has good footwork and is able to mirror receivers in man coverage. He has a good back pedal and is explosive transitioning out of it. He is a fluid athlete who has the hips to turn and run with receivers as well as to change directions as a receiver makes his break. Little shows good patience and does not quit on plays playing the ball even as the receiver is bringing it into his body to break up the pass.
Ball Skills
Little has a good feel for where the ball is when he is coverage. He has an advanced understanding of playing through the receivers hands and breaking up passes the receiver may have initially gotten their hands on. Little has excellent leaping ability and has good body control to adjust to the ball once he locates it. He also has strong hands and can make tough catches to convert the interception.
Physicality/Tackling
Little is a physical player who does not hesitate to take on blockers or ball carriers. His aggression and explosiveness help him to beat blockers that may appear to be bigger and stronger than him. Little is also willing to be physical with receivers at the line of scrimmage. He will need to continue to get stronger in college but Little has the attitude and willingness to be an asset against the run.
Projection
Earl Little Jr is an excellent athlete who shows advanced footwork and technique as a cornerback. He is a competitive player who will fight to win on every play. With a strong athletic profile and a lot of intangibles in his favor, Little will become a quality college cornerback who is a starter for an upper echelon power five team.
